ASUS ROG STRIX XG49WCR Monitor With a 49-inch Curved Screen, 165Hz Refresh Rate Unveiled
At CES 2023, Taiwanese tech giant ASUS announced the ROG STRIX XG49WCR monitor, a new super-ultra-wide display. The display is a 49-inch ultra-wide curved screen that has a 32:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 5120 by 1440 pixels. The display seems to be two 27-inch 1440p monitors that have been perfectly integrated. Due to the monitor’s 1800R curvature, which wraps the display around the edge of your field of vision, you can see everything perfectly.
The massive screen also supports adaptive-sync for VRR from both AMD and NVIDIA systems, which results in a rather high refresh rate of 165Hz. Additional features include factory calibration with dE 2 and a wider color gamut with 125% sRGB coverage.
Among the connectivity options are DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, USB type-C, USB data ports, and even an Ethernet connector. Due to its integrated RJ45 connector, the XG49WCR may also serve as a dock for laptops, offering network connectivity through a single USB-C connection.
A 65W reverse power supply may be used with the USB type-C interface. By accepting a display signal and linking you to the accessories you have linked to the built-in USB hub of the display, it will charge your laptop while also accepting a display signal.
A Smart KVM switch built into the display enables the user to quickly switch between two connected devices using a keyboard and mouse.
The ROG Strix XG49WCR uses Smart KVM to automatically transfer control from one computer to the other when you move your cursor from one side of the screen to the other, doing away with the need for manual switching.
According to reports, ASUS will sell the ROG STRIX XG49WCR Monitor for roughly 1199 Euros in the second quarter of this year.
